Selected Drawings
West Africans Lost At Sea (Madrid, Spain, 2023)
Having recently lost a friend to the Atlantic ocean en rout to the Canary Islands, I am presently working on a series of large-scale drawings of Africans lost at sea, depicting people being tossed from cayucos (West African fishing boats) resembling Japanese panel screens. There is no such thing as a “migration crisis” there is a visa crisis related to colonial-era borders and racism.

Erotic Toyscape Drawings (New York, USA, 2023)
What have we here with these erotic toyscape drawings? Why the toys? Why the blending of eroticism and innocence, sex and toys, the libido and the imaginary, the animal and the dream?
On the one hand, there's the childlike nature of eroticism, but on the other hand there's the socialization of sexuality, such as the expectations of others. There is a conflict between the sexualized body, as the ideal of the other, and the quiet self, which remains irreconcilably obscure. And within the erotic imaginary, the physiology of bodies are socialized by systems. These systems of identification and idealization are present during the out-of-body experience of carnal union.
The ‘cartoonification’ of intimacy clashes with the fraudulent identity of the body. For identity, as a source of the self, is ambiguous and often arbitrary. We are socialized genders driven to sexuality like robotic farm animals. We are raised like farm animals and thrown into a sex complex.
Bodies copulate like farm animals. All theory is biological.
The little boy inside of a man body. The sexualized body as the ideal of the other. But the quiet self irreconcilably obscure. [Identity is instituted upon us by a subjugating narrative and architecture.]
